The Canadian Dove Association’s 28th Annual Show & Sale was held on November 24th, 2007 in the Oxford Auditorium on the Woodstock, Fairgrounds in conjunction with the 37th Specialty Pigeon Show. This year we held our show just inside the main doors in the cloakroom. This gave us all the room we required to set up our cages, and everyone either entering or leaving the show had to walk right by our display. There were numerous fanciers visiting our section, and I noticed that there was a lot of interest in the Band-tailed Pigeon. This year we had only two exhibitors showing a total of 30 entries - 8 Ring Neck Doves shown in 8 different mutations; 7 Diamond Doves shown in 4 different mutations; 7 Doves were shown in the section for Senegal Doves and Smaller in 4 species, and 5 Doves were shown in 4 species in the section of the show for Doves Larger than Senegal Doves.

The Champion Dove was an Young Male Silver W-T/W-R Diamond Dove shown by John House, Plattsville, Ontario. The Reserve Champion Dove was an Old Male Senegal Dove shown by Wiebe Horinga, Woodstock, Ontario. The Young Male Silver W-T/W-R Diamond Dove won the Bill and Jane Jansen Memorial Award as the Best 2007 Dove in the show for John House. In the Junior Section of the show, Hunter and Axel House, Innerkip, Ontario won Champion Junior Dove with an Old Female White Ring Neck Dove.

The Best Ring Neck Dove was a Old Female Orange Pied shown by John House, and the Reserve Ring Neck Dove was a Young Female Violet Neck also shown by John House.

Best Diamond Dove was an Young Male Silver W-T/W-R shown by John House, and the Reserve Diamond Dove was a Young Female Silver W-T/W-R also shown by John House.

Best Dove in the section for Senegal Doves and Smaller was an Old Male Senegal Dove shown by Wiebe Horinga, Woodstock, Ontario, and the Reserve in this section was an Old Male Zebra Dove also shown by Wiebe Horinga.

Best Dove exhibited in the section for Doves Larger than Senegal Doves was an Old Male Band-tailed Pigeon shown by Wiebe Horinga, and the Dove selected as the Reserve in this section was an Old Male Australian Crested Pigeon also shown by Wiebe Horinga.

This year our judge was Bernie van Erp, Parkhill, Ontario, and clerking was Rose Marie van Erp, Parkhill, Ontario, and Bernie van Erp was also our auctioneer for the donated items. The Association would also like to say "Thank You" to these members, and to the suppliers and members who donated items of interest for the auction, which raised $97.00. Thank you for your generous support and contributions! The presentation of the show awards followed our meeting. Our members then went to the Bamboo Restaurant for dinner, and some relaxing.
